Monthly Pistol Shoot May 13th

Six brave shooters stood against the harsh May winds and rain to attempt the perfect practice session for the upcoming territorial matches. Not really but it makes us seem tougher since it was a wonderful spring day with a light overcast and no rain.

With our second series of 50 yard targets after the 1000 point pistol shoot 10 days ago, Tim Evers had it dialed in scoring 84x at 50yds, 90 for the LTF and a whopping 92xxxxx for the slow fire @25yds and a total of 266xxxxxx. Nice shooting Tim! Mike Grigsby was a close second with 77x @50yds, 89xx LTF and 91x @25 slow fire and total score of 257xxxx. He should get some extra points for saving powder and lead shooting a 32 caliber. Steve Anderson took 3rd with a total score of 248x with 75@50, 81 LTF and 92x @25 slow fire. Pat Reed shot a respectable 232 scoring 64 @50yds, 85 LTF and 83 @25 slow fire. Paul Hoekema and Pat Butler came down to the wire with only a 2 point separation but Paul sealed the deal with an x on top of the 2 points for a final score of 186x. The dreaded 50yd target was his demise scoring 30 then 69x and 87 on the 25yd targets. Pat Butler shot a 38@50 yds, 76 LTF and 70 slow fire for a total score of 184. Nice score coming over from a Bulleye 45ACP to the single shot Lyman 50cal.

“Seeing the kids out learning and shooting is really a large part of what our club is about, trying to keep the history alive for the next generation.”
